Kapok fiber is a natural fiber obtained from the fruit of the Ceiba pentandra tree, also known as "kapok". This tree grows mainly in tropical regions, such as Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America. Kapok fiber is light, soft and fluffy, and is often used to fill pillows, mattresses, stuffed animals and other padding products.
One of the distinguishing characteristics of kapok fiber is that it is composed mainly of cellulose and has a high buoyancy power. In addition, it is naturally resistant to moisture and insects. Compared to other natural fibers, kapok fiber is less used industrially, but it offers an environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic fibers or other natural fibers such as cotton.
