What is recycled cashmere?
Recycled cashmere is obtained by recycling cashmere fiber. It is a pure cashmere yarn with low environmental impact, made entirely from high-quality recycled cashmere.
We only use spinning mill cashmere scraps and remnants, and especially old recycled cashmere knitwear, which would otherwise end up in a landfill or be incinerated.

This offers many advantages, of which the three main ones are: 1- The quality is the same as yarns made with virgin cashmere staple, maintaining the softness, loft, and the best quality of the yarn itself and the garments produced. 2- The price of the yarn is significantly reduced while maintaining the best characteristics, lowering production costs and the use of raw materials. 3- It avoids discarding unused fiber, reducing environmental pollution. Thus, it preserves the environment by reducing the amount of waste produced. 4- It supports local industry and encourages creativity and innovation. 5- The materials have a longer lifespan. 6- (but not least) consumption is consistently reduced: 90% less water consumption, 80% less electricity consumption, 95% less carbon dioxide consumption.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, approximately 12.4 million tons of textile products were regenerated in 2013. It is estimated, for example, that the average American throws away 68 kilos of clothes each year. Recycled fashion means reducing the amount of waste associated with environmental protection and saving CO2 and water.
The cashmere fibers, the clothes that are thrown away each year, are still usable and in excellent condition. This is why we manually select the best of them and, after sorting by quality and colors, we recycle them using a special technique.
To give you the opportunity to try this yarn, we have decided to offer a temporary promotional sale at a very special price. We have reserved a 15% discount for you on all eco-cashmere yarns, valid until Saturday, January 27, 2024, which you will receive by subscribing to the newsletter by clicking here (only from this link, do not subscribe elsewhere).
Our yarns are 100% recycled cashmere; we do not use staple fiber for these yarns. Some yarns, like the tweed ones, are 90% recycled cashmere and 10% silk (the silk being the nubs), some are recycled cashmere and lurex, some with sequins; however, all the cashmere we use is recycled.
At the bottom of this page, you can find the link to our tips for working with and washing cashmere.
And as I always say: I strongly advise you to always make a swatch and wash it before proceeding with the final project.
The raw materials we use to make our eco-cashmere yarns come from a GRS certified company, which performs sample laboratory analyses on many of the batches produced (a couple of analysis examples below), and the results rarely fall below 98% cashmere purity.
