PINK TOP WITH FLOWER
MATERIALS NEEDED (for a Size 42): 230 gr. of yarn, color of choice, needles no.3, three pink buttons.
STITCHES USED
WITH KNITTING NEEDLES: tubular stitch (cast on).
1/1 Rib stitch.
stockinette stitch with dropped stitches (worked over 10 sts.)
Row 1 (RS of work): *K8, sl1, k1, psso (slip 1 st. knitwise without working it, k1, pass the slipped st. over the knitted st.), yo*; repeat from * to *.
Row 2 and foll.: in stockinette stitch. In the last row, drop the sts. corresponding to the yarn overs of Row 1 and unravel them down to the base.
Slip stitch (sl st).
Single crochet (sc).
Double crochet.
Cord: ch 4 and close in a circle with 1 sl st, turn work and make 1 sc in each ch, working from outside to inside. Continue working in sc in a tubular fashion.
GAUGE:
10x10 cm worked with size 3 needles in stockinette stitch with dropped stitches equals 28 sts and 38 rows.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Back: cast on 110 sts with size 3 needles and work 4 rows in tubular stitch, then in 1/1 rib stitch for a total height of 2 cm. Continue in stockinette stitch with dropped stitches. At a total height of 24 cm, for the armholes, bind off 12 sts at each side by unraveling the yarn overs, then decrease 1 st every 2 rows 3 times (=80 sts). At a total height of 30 cm, bind off the sts by unraveling the yarn overs.
Front: worked the same as the back.
FINISHING
Sew the sides, starting from an armhole, with the hook, finish the entire neckline with a round of sc, finish with 1 sl st in the 1st sc.
Next round: 1 sc in each st until the beginning of the neckline, **ch 4, skip 1 st, *1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, ch 4, skip 3 sts*; repeat from * to * along the back neckline**, work sc along the entire armhole, then repeat from ** to * along the front neckline, 1 sl st in the 1st sc.
Next round: 1 sc in each st and 5 sc in each ch-4 arch, finish with 1 sl st in the 1st st. Cut and fasten the yarn.
Collar: Row 1: with hook, ch 91, 1 dc in the 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each st until the last 2 sts, ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc in the last st (=buttonhole), turn.
Row 2: ch 4 (ch 3 = 1 dc, ch 1 = buttonhole space), skip one space, 1 dc in each st across the row, turn.
Row 3: ch 3 (= 1 dc), 1 dc in each st until the last 2 sts, ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc in the last st (= buttonhole), turn.
Row 4: *ch 4, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts*; repeat from * to * across the row, turn.
Row 5: (5 sc in the ch-4 arch, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts) across the row, work 1 sc in each st along the side edge, along the bottom edge, and along the other side edge. Cut and fasten the yarn.
Flower:
Row 1: with hook, ch 33, 1 dc in the 4th ch from hook, in the same base st work 1 dc, in each next st work 2 dc (=66 dc), turn.
Row 2: ch 3, in the same base st work 1 dc, in each next dc work 2 dc (=132 dc), turn.
Row 3: (ch 2, 1 sc in each st) across the row. Cut and fasten the yarn.
Roll the strip on itself to form the flower and secure it with a few hidden stitches.
Make a very long cord, sufficient to border the entire neckline and collar as follows: fasten the beginning of the cord on the wrong side at the height of the 6th arch of the back neckline, pass the cord through the same arch exiting on the right side, pass the cord through the first buttonhole of the collar from the wrong side to the right side, pass the cord through the next arch of the back neckline, exit with it on the right side of the next arch of the back neckline, pass the cord through the first arch of the collar and so on until the entire collar is connected. Attach the flower to the neckline. Attach the buttons.
