Yarn Waxing
Yarn Paraffining
Paraffin (also known as "wax") is applied during yarn winding and allows for greater slippage of the yarn during knitting machine processing, thus making the yarn easier to work with and helping to prevent breakages, ensuring a successful knitting process.
After 20 days from delivery, the paraffin begins to degrade, leading to a deterioration in the yarn's smoothness. After this period, the yarn must be re-paraffined. The re-paraffining operation through new winding requires specific machinery and particular care. It is recommended to re-paraffin the yarn at low speed immediately before knitting.
It is advisable NEVER to work bobbins of re-paraffined or re-wound yarn together with original bobbins.
