Cashmere Blend Yarns in stock

In-stock Cashmere Blend Yarns

The cashmere blend yarns we carry on our website are mostly Merino Wool and Cashmere blend yarns in various gauges. Sometimes we may come across cashmere and silk blend yarns, but these are rarely woolen yarns; they are mostly worsted yarns. We have cashmere blend yarns for machine knitting and cashmere blend yarns for hand knitting and crocheting. You can find them in their respective subcategories. The machine yarns are mostly for 12-gauge machines, such as 2/28 and 2/30, and for 7-8 gauge machines, such as 2/15, 2/14, 2/17, etc. The yarns for hand knitting and crocheting come in various thicknesses, to be worked with needles from size 2 up to about 6-8. But you can also hand-knit machine yarns by working them with two or more strands; some of our customers even work these yarns with up to 8 strands, but naturally, this requires a certain level of knitting experience. We offer a small service to make it easier to work fine yarns with multiple strands: we can divide each cone you purchase into a maximum of 4 smaller cones so you can work the yarn with up to 4 strands. However, we cannot join the strands because we don't have the appropriate machine; this would require twisting, but it's not feasible for such small quantities. The main differences between a woolen yarn and a worsted yarn consist of the type of fiber used (a longer fiber is used for worsted yarns) and the spinning process (woolen and worsted), where in worsted spinning, the fiber is passed through a comb that removes the shorter fibers. And the resulting fabric is completely different. While woolen yarn has a slight fuzz that appears on the surface, worsted spinning does not, and the garment appears more woven compared to a woolen garment. Remember that the yarns you find on our website need to be treated/washed before or after processing. On our website and blog, you can find all the information and tips for treatment. And, please, always make a small swatch first and wash it. If you're treating the yarn, before treating all of it, make a small swatch, a small skein of 30-50 gr, and wash it, because if the washing goes wrong, we cannot take the yarn back. Please!
