Filati in stock: facciamo chiarezza (una volta per tutte)

Yarn in stock: let's get it straight (once and for all)

Lately, we have been receiving many inquiries that make us realize one thing: often, the information is available, but it is not read carefully or is misunderstood.
For this reason, we have decided to write this article to explain clearly and transparently what we do when we talk about selling stock yarns and how to correctly interpret what you find on our website.

What “stock yarns” means

We purchase and resell warehouse remnants from:

  • knitwear factories

  • spinning mills

  • industrial auctions

These are original yarns, created for professional productions, which are no longer used for commercial reasons, end of collection, item changes, or simply due to excess inventory.

👉 They are not yarns produced specifically to order
👉 They are not continuous items

This is a fundamental point to understand.

Quantities are often limited (sometimes minimal)

Another typical characteristic of stock yarns is the available quantity.

Very often, we are talking about:

  • a single cone

  • two cones

  • small lots

This is absolutely normal.
If you are looking for color continuity or future replenishments, stock is not the suitable solution.
However, if you are looking for industrial quality at advantageous prices, then stock is a real opportunity.

Photos on the website: how they are taken

The photographs you see on our website are neither random nor approximate.

  • they are taken professionally

  • with natural light or in the studio

  • using 5500° Kelvin lighting

  • with white balance set at 5500K

This allows us to achieve accurate and neutral color rendering, which is the best possible from a technical point of view.

📸 In other words:
the photographic starting point is 100% calibrated to the actual colors of the yarn.

Why the color might look different on your screen

Despite all this, it can happen that the color seen on the monitor does not perfectly match the actual one.

The reason is simple:

  • each monitor has a different calibration

  • brightness, contrast, and color temperature vary from screen to screen

  • smartphones, tablets, and computers display the same color differently

For this reason, we always recommend referring to the color name, which is the only objective and shared data, to avoid misunderstandings or incompatibilities in orders.

Selling stock yarns means:

  • offering real opportunities, not promises

  • working with limited quantities

  • enhancing high-quality industrial yarns

  • being transparent about what is available and how it is presented

If you start from these basics, stock becomes a valuable resource.
However, if you are looking for certainties typical of made-to-order production, then it is important to know this before purchasing.

This article aims to clarify this, once and for all.
