Ecocashmere: Una Soluzione Sostenibile per l'Industria della Moda

Ecocashmere: A Sustainable Solution for the Fashion Industry

What is ecocashmere

Ecocashmere is a textile fiber obtained through the recycling and reuse of cashmere scraps. In the textile industry, during cashmere production, scraps and waste are often generated that can be recovered and transformed into new cashmere yarns. This process reduces the need to extract new fibers and reduces the volume of textile waste destined for landfills.

The Ecocashmere Production Process

The regenerated cashmere production process involves several phases. First, cashmere scraps from spinning, weaving, or other stages of the cashmere production process are collected. Subsequently, the scraps are selected, cleaned, and reorganized based on color and fiber length.

After the preparation of the scraps, the actual regeneration process takes place. The cashmere fibers are shredded and spun to obtain new regenerated cashmere yarns that can be used to create high-quality fabrics and garments.

Advantages of Ecocashmere

Ecocashmere offers numerous advantages for both the environment and the fashion industry. Here are some of the main advantages:

  1. Reduction of textile waste: By using cashmere scraps to produce new yarns, regenerated cashmere helps reduce textile waste and the amount of waste destined for landfills.
  2. Reduced resource extraction: Ecocashmere reduces the need to extract new cashmere fibers from goats, thus reducing the environmental impact associated with the breeding and processing of traditional cashmere.
  3. Lower water and energy consumption: The ecocashmere production process requires less water and energy compared to virgin cashmere production, contributing to greater sustainability.
  4. Quality comparable to traditional cashmere: Ecocashmere offers quality comparable to traditional cashmere in terms of softness, warmth, and lightness. Garments made with ecocashmere meet consumer expectations in terms of performance and style.
