How to determine yarn thickness

Come stabilire lo spessore nei filati

Do you know how to determine or recognize the thickness of yarns? In technical jargon, yarn thickness is called "Count," often represented by the symbol "Nm." which stands for Metric Number.

It is always based on a quantity of 1 kg of yarn.

Yarn thickness cannot be measured with calipers, so this ratio is used instead. Watch the video below by Alicja Kwartnik; it's explained very well.
