Cashmere and C2C crochet
You’ve read the title and you're wondering what this strange acronym C2C means.
I’ll explain it right away. C2C stands for “corner to corner.” It's a way of crocheting (or knitting, if you prefer) that starts from one corner and finishes in another.
I must say, I'm not particularly attracted to these strange linguistic structures, but the technique itself has completely won me over.
After doing some research, looking at various projects, and of course, experimenting with the technique, I’ve created a small course that includes what I believe to be the most effective and also very fun approach.
Experimenting with the C2C technique, I tried different types of yarns and discovered that this technique is very versatile and the result is always beautiful.
Driven by curiosity, I even tried it with cashmere. I chose fine machine cashmere (count 2/28), working first with 1 strand, then with 2 strands.
Working with any untreated yarn (to learn more about the topic, click here) results in a less beautiful finish compared to working with pre-treated yarns, but the price is much lower. However, once the garment is washed, it shines in all its beauty that only cashmere and fine yarns can possess. It becomes incredibly soft and so pleasant to the touch that you’d never want to stop touching it :-).
Working with a single strand is very refined but, of course, takes more time. Working with 2 strands (I used a 1.40 mm crochet hook) achieves the right thickness, and the work progresses faster. The choice is yours :-).
